Flu Season

Did you know you can avoid getting the flu by getting the flu vaccine each fall? You can also reduce your risk of catching the flu/cold by washing your hands frequently, which stops the spread of germs. Eating healthy, exercising, and getting enough sleep also play a part in preventing the flu/cold because they help boost your immune system. If you are sick, make sure you cover your mouth when you cough and wash your hands often to prevent giving it to others.

Did you know you can treat your flu/cold symptoms by staying at home and resting especially when you have a fever? Stop smoking and avoid second hand smoke which can make cold symptoms worse. Drink plenty of fluids like water, fruit juice and clear soup. Don't drink alcohol. Gargle with warm salt water, use salt water nose drops to help loosen mucous and moisten the tender skin in your nose.
