Hugh Taylor, MD One of the founding partners of Family Medicine Associates, Dr. Hugh Taylor has been in practice since 1983. Dr. Taylor enjoys the whole spectrum of family medicine, and is accepting new patients of all ages in our Hamilton location.

Dr. Taylor graduated from Harvard College in 1973 and Harvard Medical School in 1978. He completed his residency at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland in 1981 and has been board certified in family medicine since that time. Dr. Taylor has also been certified in geriatrics since 1990.

Dr. Taylor is affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine as a clinical instructor in family medicine. He is president of the Essex South District Medical Society (2010–2012.) and past president of the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP). He is has been a delegate from MAFP to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) since 2004 and is currently a delegate from AAFP to the American Medical Association. He serves as co-chair of the Medical Advisory Program of Northeast Hospital Systems.

Dr. Taylor was named Family Physician of the Year in 2008 by the Massachusetts Academy of Family Physicians. Additionally, in 2009, he was the first family physician to receive the Philip Herrick Award from Northeast Health Systems for contributions to the hospital and the community. Dr. Taylor was one of two physicians chosen in 2009 by The Salem Evening News, Beverly MA, to the “North Shore 100” as one of 100 “top leaders and innovators” in the North Shore area.

Dr. Taylor lives with his wife of over thirty years in Ipswich. They have two sons. Dr. Taylor enjoys boating, running, kayaking, bicycling, and reading.
